What is SAE Baja?
University of San Diego’s SAE Baja program is an interdisciplinary team consisting of mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering students. For the second year in a row, our team will design, engineer, fabricate, test and, and compete with an off-road vehicle in the 2017 Baja SAE Collegiate Design Series. Last year’s team found immense success by finishing 30th overall out of over 100 teams. This year’s team aims to improve on the previous design by reducing excess weight, refining vehicle control, and improving overall durability. As a team, we intend on expanding this program to a school wide venture to provide practical learning experience.
How do your donations help?
Your donations will give us the opportunity to achieve our goals. Every dollar we receive will be applied to buy materials to build, test, and race the car. We also will use the funds to pay for competition expenses.

Why do we need your help?
All mechanical engineers at USD's Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering are required to complete a senior design project in order to graduate. Designing and building a vehicle of this caliber from scratch requires a significant amount of funding to succeed.
If you have the means, we’d greatly appreciate your donation, large or small. Every penny counts! If donating isn’t an option, please pass this link along.
