Re:Emergence is a 20' tall open-air tunnel that draws the visitor through its constriction and expansion, with a jungle-gym-like construction that allows people to experience the structure either through traversing or climbing. Its shape invites us to reflect on our emergence from the past 2 years of confinement and discomfort we’ve collectively experienced, and allows us to experience the joy of the re-expansion. At night, LED animations will react to both motion and sound. As viewers travel through the structure, motion sensors will create custom LED animations that react to their presence.
Donations are applied to...
Your generosity helps our San Diego Art Builds crew to create and share our new piece: Re:Emergence is a large-scale art installation that invites reflection on the experience of closing down and opening up that we have grown accustomed to over the past two years plus years. We brought a smaller prototype installation called Emergence to Everywhen in October 2021, but we would like to go even further with this design by adding motion, vision, & sound sensors as you move around the piece — not only to be more interactive but to also signify our community and connection with each other through art.
We are almost there!
We’ve raised all but $2,000 of the $35,000 needed to build and install Re:Emergence. Help us close the gap with this campaign sprint!
Why are donations necessary?
We are completely volunteer based, and 100% of donations go into the art. Supporters like you are the only way we're able to share our work with the world.
