Personal Message
My Name is Jimmy Bried and I have been clean and sober for 7 years. My sobriety date is December 25, 2011 and I graduated from the University of San Diego in 2016. To this day, those are two of my proudest moments. In my early years of my sobriety, I lived in a sober living facility in Pacific Beach and worked construction. Construction taught me humility, discipline, and punctuality and built the foundation for me to go back to school to get a degree. I worked during the day, and took night classes for 2 years in order to gain acceptance into the Business program at USD. From that point on, my life changed. Today I am working for market leader, Amazon Web Services, and will be graduating with my MBA from Pepperdine on August 2, 2019.
While I am happy with my accomplishments thus far, I also realize it's largely due to the fact that I had both financial and emotional support from family. I am eternally grateful to my family, employers and friends who supported me on this path. I recognize that not everyone will have this same support and I want to do whatever I can to make sure at least one person has the opportunity to earn the future they want for themselves. That’s why I am working with USD to pay it forward to the next generation of sober Toreros.
