USD Club Ultimate Frisbee has provided an athletic outlet for students from all different kinds of athletic, academic, and economic backgrounds. We pride ourselves in being an open and inclusive club, and we have even been nominated for Student Orgs Excellence in Inclusion Award after doubling our team size from just over 20 members to now 50 club members in the past year. In order to keep our club open and inclusive we keep our membership dues low, but we need your help to raise the funds necessary to support this large, new team.
After years of wear and tear, our official club discs have become incredibly torn up. Nowadays, the team gets by practicing with old hand-me-down discs that club members have personally donated. New discs would help us practice with better discs and allow for our members to keep their personal discs to practice with.
A New Disc Bag:
The discs previously mentioned need a new home. Our current disc bag is a beat up old duffle bag that is ripping at the seams and losing its zippers.
The disc bag doesn’t only house our practice discs, it holds the cones used to set up drills and scrimmage fields so that we can get better at the sport we love. Unfortunately the cones that we have are torn, broken, and more than ready to be replaced.
We have been working to design new sublimated jerseys for our club but with 50 total members, we need the help of donations to get the gear necessary to make our team look competitive.
Since our team is growing larger and more competitive, extra funds will be put towards the registration fees that have prevented us from playing in the USA Ultimate national league and towards registering multiple teams to send to the local tournaments that we currently play in.
Since we are a club sports team, our primary sources of income are funds from Associated Students and our club member dues. The AS funding is a fixed amount that does not change with our growing team size which poses a struggle for us this semester since our team size has doubled. The club dues bring in a minimal amount of funding, as we keep our dues low in order to make our club more accessible. We have been able to register for local tournaments but lack the funding to fix our old and broken equipment, which is why we need your help!
