About Us
The University of San Diego Dance Company is a student-run organization led by passionate leaders and a mutual love of dance. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive space for all members of our team, while striving for improved skill and technique with every practice. As a student-led team, we build leadership skills and responsibility, while learning how to work collaboratively as a team to produce our annual Spring Recital. This recital showcases everything our team has worked towards and prepared for the stage that season, featuring purely student choreography and performance. With this recital comes several expenses. To make the show go on, we are asking for your generous support. This is our biggest event of the year and it means so much to our dancers to be able to get up on that stage and share our work with you all. We would truly appreciate any contribution to our team. Why are donations necessary?
As a student-run dance company, student members are responsible for keeping the club operating and functioning efficiently, with the help of our amazing USD Campus Recreation and Sports Club faculty. We are fortunate enough to receive $500 annually from Associated Students to help fund our club, for which we are extremely grateful for.
Unfortunately, this funding, along with membership dues, does not sustain the entirety of our club’s expenses. Our annual total expenditures come to around $3,000 on average, with one of our greatest expenses being the annual USD Dance Company Recital we put on every spring. With our club being only 15% funded by USD, we rely heavily on fundraising and donations to accommodate for the other 85% of our expenses.
