USD Men's Club Rugby team is in need of your help! To compete in the Golden Coast Conference Intercollegiate Rugby league and at a national level we look to your support! The combined funds from campus recreation and the significant contributions from players on the team cannot cover the minimum needed to compete against fully funded/Varsity programs. Anything helps and we are truly grateful for your support and donations because they really do make an impact! All donations are tax deductible as well!
Donations are applied to...
1. Scrum Machine (estimated cost $4000)- USD's current scrum machine is so old that it is not even usable. A scrum machine is a vital piece of training equipment and is the most important team need.
2. New posts (estimated cost $2000)- Like the scrum machine, USD's current goal posts are old, falling apart, and a safety hazard. Built by players on the team using a combination of metal and PVC pipes, our current posts need an update.
These are the basics necessary for USD Rugby to compete at the national level against fully funded/Varsity programs.

The USD Men's Club Rugby team thanks you for visiting our fundraising page! As a collegiate club team competing with fully funded/varsity programs, your support is greatly appreciated. We are a growing program with immense talent and depth this season with 34 players and 4 coaches. College rugby is exploding in the U.S. and in order for us to continue to compete, USD needs new practice equipment to train players to the standard of competition. In 2014, USD Rugby competed in the Division 1 AA nationals and traveled across the country beating some of the best teams in the nation and making it all the way to the Final Four. With a very strong team this year, USD anticipates a similar run with the goal of winning a national championship. We NEED your help and support so that we can be ready for the intense competition ahead of us. All donations for our cause are tax deductible as well! Why are donations necessary?
USD Rugby often spends over $30,000 over the course of an academic year . These costs go toward things like team jerseys and apparel, rugby balls and equipment, and travel costs. Unfortunately the campus recreation department is not equipped to cover these costs, with many other club sports on campus that also need funding. A large portion of costs are covered by the players on the team. Player dues cover a sizable portion of the team budget. With the funds allocated from campus recreation and the significant financial input from players, we are still not able to reach the minimum amount needed to be a fully functioning and competitive team.
