M.O.V.E. Uganda is a continuing humanitarian project aimed at improving the daily lives of the physically impaired within Uganda by providing assistive devices for both mobility and pit latrine use. A pit latrine is similar to an outhouse where the "toilet" is simply a hole in the ground that accumulates human waste. In Uganda, approximately 1.5 million people live with limited mobility in their legs in addition to zero access to sanitary and handicap-friendly pit latrines. The device would be a low-cost walker/assistive pit latrine device constructed with local Ugandan materials and manufacturing processes. Funding would assist in prototyping costs, travel costs, as well as local Ugandan material costs for fabrication and implementation of the device.

Why are donations necessary?
Your donation would help to deliver new opportunities for the Ugandan people currently suffering from physical ailments and provide them with independence in their daily lives. Through the generous donations of previous years, our past teams were able to develop low-cost designs that are continuously being implemented in the rural parts of Uganda.
In 2019, we are developing a higher quality walker with increased rotational ability, collapsibility, and adjustability to accommodate a variety of people. With additional funding, we will be able to travel to Uganda and demonstrate our product as well as educate our contacts at the local vocational schools on the construction and fabrication of the device.
